Endurance Idahor’s death sends shock waves

Al Merreikh football club of Sudan officials are still reeling from the sudden death of former Nigerian youth international Endurance Idahor.
Idahor died last Saturday, during a league match between his club and rivals, Al Amal in Omdurman. He was reported to have collapsed after colliding with an opposing player, he died in the ambulance on his way to the hospital.
“It is a huge shock to all of us in the Sundanese football family. Idahor is an example of a professional and committed individual and a symbol of loyalty.
“We will assure that justice takes place,†said Al Merreikh FC in a statement.
Idahor a talented striker, started his top flight career with Igbino Babes of Benin City, before joining Julius Berger in 2003, he played only one season for the Bridge Boys, before moving over to Dolphins of Port Harcourt, it was from there he joined the Sudanese club.
He was top scorer in the Sudan league in 2006. Idahor who scored 118 goals in 176 appearances for Al Merreikh dreamt of a call to the Eagles, but it never came a development, which made him to pick up Sudanese nationality, but he never got the chance to play for the Sudanese team.
