Delta Waterways Security Committee (DWSC) in Warri, Delta State, has denounced Monday’s bomb blast by militants, 200 metres away, from the Government House Annex, Warri, venue of the aborted post-amnesty dialogue by Vanguard Newspapers.
According to a statement in Warri by the secretary, Mr. Patrick Origho, “The DWSC held an emergency meeting on Wednesday over the bomb blast, 200 metres away from the Government House Annex, Warri , venue of the post_amnesty dialogue by the Vanguard Newspapers.
“The Committee wholesomely denounces the detonation of explosives by criminals, which led to the abortion of dialogue that was designed to address the challenges of the post-amnesty program and chart a way forward for the NIger_Delta regionâ€, he stated.
“Preliminary investigations by the Committee have revealed that the criminal act was perpetrated by external forces outside Delta State and the Committee seizes this opportunity to ask the hoodlums to steer clear of the state.
“The post_amnesty programme is a laudable national initiative of the Federal Government and militants, whether ex or otherwise, who have scores to settle with themselves over the acceptance of amnesty and implementation of the program should not turn Delta state to a battlegroundâ€, the Committee asserted.
