BAUCHI â€” As part of its effort to boost food production in the state, the Bauchi State government has released N76 million for Fadama III.
The state Commissioner for Agriculture, Alhaji Tanko Yusuf Dutse, stated this at a sensitisation workshop for facilitators and extension agents on adaptive research technology development and transfer under Fadama III component tours, saying the funds would help improve agricultural production.
Dutse said the present administration had trained over 20,000 farmers to conduct Sassakawa Global 2,000 management training plot to enhance crop productivity, adding that another set of 2,000 youths have also been trained on contract sprayings.
The commissioner said the Component Four which supports ADPâ€™s sponsored research on farm demonstration was one of the components of Fadama III programme.
Earlier in his speech, the programme manager, BSADP, Dr Iliyasu Aliyu Gital said the workshop would be very useful to participants because, according to him, the Component Four deals with activities of all agricultural programmes in the country.
