All roads lead to Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital as the Rock City hosts the draw of the first WAFU Cup of Nations competition.
The event, to hold at the impressive Valley View multi-purpose hall, Government House Abeokuta, promises the best in culture, music and football.
Chairman of the Local Organising Committee ( LOC ) of the competition, and chairman Ogun State FA, Tunji Bolu, told the media in Abeokuta, “We are striving to host a very simple but effective draw that will be a bench mark for other similar events in Nigeriaâ€.
He also said that prominent football personalities from all over the country and the West African sub-region will be available to participate in the draw that will be conducted by the WAFU Secretary General, Mr. Aka Malan.
The secretary general who arrived Abeokuta since Saturday to oversee the logistics of the draw, confirmed that the eight countries of Nigeria, Ghana, Guinea, Togo, Benin, Burkina Faso, Senegal and Liberia are ready for the first ever edition of the WAFU Cup of Nations.
“ I want to add however that Abeokuta will be witnessing a bonus as we will also be holding the draw for the 25th edition of the President Eyadema Cup.â€
