A total of 46 officers of Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, has joined the senior rank of Comptroller following the approval of their promotion by NCSÂ board.
Until their promotion, the officers were Deputy Comptrollers of NCS.At the decoration ceremony of the promoted officers in Abuja, the Comptroller General of Customs, Abdullahi Dikko Inde, charged the newly promoted officers to see their elevation as a call to higher duties and reminded them of the ongoing reform and the determination of the management to entrench best practices in the Service.
Responding on behalf of his colleagues, Comptroller Liman M.B. thanked the Customs boss and members of management for considering them worthy for the promotion.
Liman said they were aware of the weight of the rank in terms of responsibilities and promised not to disappoint the Custom board.
A statement by Deputy Public Relations Officer, DPRO, NCS, Mr. Joseph Attah, said the promotion was based on academic qualification and performance during the promotion examination, score of annual performance evaluation report and availability of vacancies, as well as the principle of Federal Character.
Among those promoted are Comptroller Hassan Mundu, M.B. Liman, Muhammed Biu, Vowa V.E, Ometan P.E., Ebri F.O., Sanusi A.U. and Abueh M.N. All those promoted had their last promotion on or before 2006.
