YENOGOA—Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Timipre Sylva, is expected to be among the state governors that would attend the forthcoming ninth edition of Nigerian-Business Mission, scheduled to hold in Potsdam, Germany from the 16 to 24 April 2010.
Among Governor Sylva’s entourage would be some Bayelsa business communities who intend to network with their German counterparts during the conference in order to attract foreign investors to Bayelsa State.
The theme of the conference being organised by ABG Paulas, Germany, in collaboration with Niger Delta Standard newspapers and Potsdam Chamber of Commerce, IHK, is “Niches and Opportunities in Nigeria’s oil and Non-oil sectors.”

Gov. Sylva to failed to recognise his priories what a shame.
Who would want to invest in a country where there is no security to life and property.
All the issues about traveling to Western countries to woo investors is fallacy. It is just pretence to go and deposit some in their personal accounts in those countries. Why can’t the Governors in Nigeria sit down and spend their peoples’ money to develop their states and thereby empower their people. They should look inward for inherent strength in their people than looking abroad.
It is a sign of unseriousness for a Governor to leave his state for 8 good days to be attending a seminar. If they are serious and sincere about developing their states, it is the outsiders that will be coming to inquire about business opportunities based on story about the development that they might have heard.
Instead of Federal & state governments wasting money, they need to bring our various embassies in foreign lands to high standards and make information about their respective states available at a token fee charged them by those foreign embassies. With this kind of initiative, a lot of money would be saved and ploughed back into developmental projects.
But sadly, many governors are thieves. They only go on these foreign trips to stash their loot in foreign bank accounts and have good time in 5-star hotels with women supplied to them. If all the foreign trips by many governors were indeed done for the intended purposes, there ought to have been monumental developmental growth.
