The 11 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) lawmakers in the state House of Assembly, have described the call by the Dr Ogbemudia led PDP in the state that they should resume sitting as “arrant nonsenseâ€.
The lawmakers had abstained from sitting since the fracas in the House that led to the removal of the Speaker, Zakawanu Garuba by the AC lawmakers who claimed that 16 members of the House had signed the impeachment of Zakawanu.
But the Ogbemudia group of the PDP, in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Dr Francis Iyasere, urged the lawmakers to resume sitting and assist the new leadership and the government in developing the state.
However, the lawmakers who reacted through a statement Friday, signed by Zakawanu, Frank Okiye and nine others, insisted that there is no faction in the PDP in the state and that Iyasere was already a member of AC and therefore not in a position to speak for the party.
