Warri Wolves officials are hoping for a generous win over Olympic Athletico of Burundi in this weekendâ€™s CAF Confederations Cup second leg encounter, after the Wolvesâ€™ team recorded a 3-1 win over visiting Kwara United in last Sundayâ€™s Globacom League match at the Warri Township Stadium.
Wolves struck in the 12th minute when Ehiosun Ekigho opened scoring to the amazement of the visiting side. And back in form Oyoyo Michael added the second just before break in the game dominated by the Warri side.
At the resumption of the second half, Kwara United fought back, but they had no way round the defence of the Wolves. Oyoyo returned in the 70th minute to put the game beyond the Kwara boys with a well taken shot. Kwara pulled one back on the dot of 90 minutes.
â€œIt was a very good performance by us. We would only have to work hard to put up this kind of performance against Olympic Athletico,â€ said goal scorer Oyoyo. He and his other teammates pocked an extra 500,000 naira winning bonus for the their effort.Â The Wolves made their continental debut against Athletico in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup and they held the Burundians to a one all draw. The Wolves came from a goal down to equalise in the 70th minute.
