Sokoto — THE Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, has urged District Heads in the Sultanate Council to steer clear of politics.
He spoke at the Annual General Meeting of the Senior and Junior District Heads from the 63 districts across the 23 local governments of the state.
“The only way to protect your integrity and that of the traditional institution is to stay away from partisan politics and be fathers to all,†he said, adding that the district heads should give adequate attention to security issues to safeguard the lives and property of the people.
“You should always have your ears on the ground and monitor the movement and activities of unknown persons,†the Sultan advised.
He noted the contributions of the traditional rulers to the success of the on-going efforts to eradicate polio and the other child killer diseases and appealed to them to sustain the tempo, as according to him, “health is wealth.â€
