Owerri—The Imo Police Command has arrested 12 suspects for alleged arson at Akano-Umuapu in Ohaji Egbema Local Government Area.

The arrest was sequel to a recent communal clash in the area in which many people were allegedly killed and about 50 houses burnt.

Mr Aloysius Okorie, the Commissioner of Police in the state, announced the arrest in Owerri in an interview with newsmen after visiting the village to assess the extent of destruction.
