…sets aside over N1bn for varsity

Akureâ€”N80billion representing 65percent of the N124billion appropriation bill for this year in Ondo State has been set aside for capital project in order to accelerate the pace of development in the state.
Also, against speculations that the present administration has abandoned work on the state University of Science and Technology, OSUTECH,Â Okitipupa, initiated by the immediate past administration, over N1billion has been budgeted for the university this year.
Addressing newsmen in Akure, the Economic Planning and Budget Commissioner, Mr. Akin Adaramola said the insinuation that the university had been abandoned was wicked.
Adaramola said provisions have been made for the construction of the School of Engineering Technology, furnishing of the school and construction of administrative building.
On the provision of N80 billion for capital development in the year under review, the Commissioner said this include a statutory grant of N11.5billion to the state Oil Producing Area Development Commission, OSOPADEC.
