NSC youth sailors excite Naval Chiefs

By Fideis Ebu

THE IBB Golf and Country Club was alight last Wednesday. The normal Wednesday kitty of the Club pulled into a new dimension. A record 102 golfers participated in the kitty.

It has never been like this in the history of the Club, especially when shakers like General IBM Haruna, Senator John Shagaya and former Inspector General of Police, Sunday Ehindero were all part of the crowd.

At this point you would want to ask if indeed Yar’ Adua had come home. Well, the one who came home was the Olohijere of Iuleha, Chief Grace Ihonvbere. She was 45 last Wednesday and she had to paint the IBB Golf Club red with an uncommon Kitty that showed like an Open.

Prizes at the kitty were awesome. Genuine silverwares, electronics and golf equipment were shared out to those who performed.

Professor Ihonvbere, former gubernatorial candidate in Edo State, former powerful Aide to Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and indeed the hubby to the celebrant was taken apart at what he saw on ground. He never believed golfers could show so much love among each another. He signed up as a golfer immediately.

“I am 45 and I just love it”, Grace Ihonvbere said. “It’s great to be 45. I simply asked myself how I should celebrate and golf came to my mind, it was a wise thing to do and my hubby and kids love it. Am happy and thanks to golf”.
