In a bid to move the country forward in areas of science based programmes, the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Alhassan Bako Zaku, has reaffirmed the ministry’s preparedness to host the forthcoming International Junior Science Olympiad, IJSO.
The minister made this known while receiving the South Korean delegation, led by Prof. Sang Chun Lee, in Abuja yesterday.
Dr. Baku who commended the sponsorship of the IJSO competition by the delegates, said his ministry is ready to attract investments and enhance global cooperation in science and technology, acknowledging the fact that the experience and expertise of South Korea in science and technology would come in handy to harness vast Nigerian natural resources.
He further said the two countries would work diligently to develop human resources for common goals, noting that the competition is an incentive to encourage children to tap unlimited access to science, especially those who see it as being difficult subject.
