Lufthansa cancels Lagos-Frankfurt flight over pilots’ strike
Lufthansa airline on Sunday announced the cancellation of flights on the Lagos-Frankfurt route.A statement sent via email to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos, said the cancellation was due to the strike by the airline’s pilots in demand for higher wages.
The statement signed by the airline’s spokesman, Mr Jimoh Hakeem, indicated that effective dates for the cancellation of the flights would be from Feb. 22, 2010 to Feb. 25. 2010.
“Lufthansa is doing everything in its power to inform its customers as soon as possible and offer them alternative travel options. Passengers who have already booked on a Lufthansa flight during the period from Feb. 22 to 25 can re-book free of charge on another Lufthansa flight if they wish to change their travel plans, provided their ticket was issued,’’ the statement said.
