Lufthansa airline on Sunday announced the cancellation of flights on the Lagos-Frankfurt route.A statement sent via email to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos, said the cancellation was due to the strike by the airlineâ€™s pilots in demand for higher wages.
The statement signed by the airlineâ€™s spokesman, Mr Jimoh Hakeem, indicated that effective dates for the cancellation of the flights would be from Feb. 22, 2010 to Feb. 25. 2010.
â€œLufthansa is doing everything in its power to inform its customers as soon as possible and offer them alternative travel options. Passengers who have already booked on a Lufthansa flight during the period from Feb. 22 to 25 can re-book free of charge on another Lufthansa flight if they wish to change their travel plans, provided their ticket was issued,â€™â€™ the statement said.
