The President of Forceful Youths, a pressure group in Delta State, Mr. Oritsewinor Olu, has called on the Acting President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, to use his good offices to implement the Justice Uwais electoral reforms panel report. Oritsewinor made the call in a statement during the week.
Oritsewinor observed that without credible institutions and structures on ground, successful elections in the country will remain a mirage, which is bound to impact negatively on the country’s nascent democracy.
Oritsewinor particularly took a swipe at the incumbent Chairman of INEC, Professor Maurice Iwu, whom he accused of arrogance and inefficiency, urging the Jonathan-led government to do something urgent about the credibility of the electoral body.
In a related development, Oritsewinor has commended Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan’s victory over his opponent, Chief Okocha, at the Court of Appeal, describing the victory as the best thing to happen to Delta State, since the Governor has visibly transformed the state in a short time with his three- point agenda.
