A NIGER Delta group, United Niger Delta Energy Development Security Strategy, UNDEDSS, has commended Acting President Goodluck Jonathan for the recent cabinet reshuffle just as it said his “leadership holds the potential of heralding a period of positive change for Nigeria’s nascent democracyâ€
It also commended the National Assembly for passing a resolution to end the constitutional logjam the country experienced owing to the absence of ailing President Umar Yar’Adua.
In a statement by UNDEDSS secretary, Mr Tony Uranta, the group said it saluted the “courage, even though belated, of the National Assembly that executed the political solution that has brought the nation away from the precipice she teetered on for nearly eighty days.â€
While calling for all hands to be on deck in ensuring progress in the nation, it said, “All stakeholders in Project Nigeria must work together to strengthen the nation’s much-battered psyche; in the face of recent national and international challenges.â€
Speaking further, it said, “The resilience of all patriotic Nigerians who for once shed all partisan, ethnic, sectional and religious differences, to call, in one voice, for the upholding of the 1993 Constitution, and supported democracy and the rule of law, must be commended.â€
