Governor Rotimi Amechi of River State of River state has again stoked the seeming rivalry between the Nigerian Football federation and the Presidential Task force, PTF, by suggesting that the Technical adviser that would be hired by the NFF should be given a five year mandate to develop ‘our football’.
The sports loving Governor we gathered wants a technical adviser to hired to reform out football.
The governor has never hidden his quest for a foreign technical adviser with the lack lustre performance of the Eagles at the recently concluded Nations Cup justifying his position.
‘We need a good coach whose interest will also be to develop our football and such a person should have at least a five year programme to achieve results’ the governor said.
The NFF which has come under severe pressure is looking for a technical adviser that can handlle the Eagles even on temporary basis for the World Cup has short-listed five international coaches.
They are Egypt,s Coach Hassan Shehata, Russia,s boss Guus Hiddink, Bayern Munich coach Louis Van Gaal, former Senegal Boss Bruno Metsu, Ex Ghana Coach Ratomir Dujkovic and one time England caretaker coach Peter Taylor.

Even before the Eagles dismal performance in Angola , Governor Ameachi had canvassed the hiring of a foreign coach stating that the a local coach does not have the wherewithal to coach the super Eagles.
Last week the Governor had likened the super Eagles under Amodu to passengers knowingly entering a rickety vehicle but prayed that the vehicle will get to its destination safely. Giovanni Trappatoni was the latest coach to pull out of the race to coach the Super Eagles.
A football Association of Ireland had expressed confidence that the vastly experienced coach will leave them having take to brink of World cup qualification when they lost a nail biting play- off to France.
