ABUJAâ€”The President of the Senate, Senator David Mark weekend said the solution to Nigeriaâ€™s problems of underdevelopment and poverty lies in good governance, peace and stability.
Senator Mark made the statement weekend in Abuja while addressing Nigeria Military School, NMS, Zaria Old Boys Class of 1966.
Mark who himself is a member of the class described a good government as one that provides the greatest good for the greatest number of its citizens.
He said, â€œI want to use this forum to renew my advocacy for peace, harmony, stability and good governance of our dear nation. A good government is the one that provides the greatest good for the greatest number of its citizens. No society can develop within reasonable measure if there is no security of lives and property.
â€œWe must learn to live in harmony irrespective of our apparent differences. Our diversity as a nation should be the source of our strengthâ€.
Speaking on his experiences at the NMS, he said; â€œMy experiences and my desire to provide quality service have helped to shape my performances in various positions of public trust”.
