The Ekiti Chairman of the ruling Peoples Democratic party (PDP), Chief Bola Olu-Ojo has commended the National Assembly for its decision to make Dr. Goodluck Jonathan as Acting President.
Chief Olu-Ojo speaking at a party organised for PDP members in Ado-Ekiti was of the view that the National Assembly and the Federal Executive Council (FEC) who were major actors in the logjam considered exigencies over and above legality and morality.
According to him, though the process may have some legal flaws, but we cannot allow the country to continue without a head, stressing that this may have informed their decision to use resolution to effect the change which may be unconstitutional if one look at it from the legal perspective.
“In exigency situation, the dictum that laws are made for men and not man for the law is what I can consider as applying resolution to bring us out of the logjamâ€, Rotarian Olu-Ojo said.
Speaking on the waves of kidnapping, armed robbery and killings in the state, the PDP boss linked these crimes to the thugs the opposition imported to the state during the rerun election.
