Dina: Attack on govt delegation diversionary, say Ogun Elders’

By Olasunkanmi Akoni
The Elders’ Council of the People Democratic Party, PDP, in Ogun East, has said the attack unleashed on the delegation of Ogun State to the burial of late Dipo Dina was a ploy to divert attention of the law enforcement agencies from the real killers of the deceased.

Speaking to newsmen, Chairman of the Elders’ Council, Chief Kolapo Ogunjobi,  said: “It is indeed callous and insensitive that the action by some rabble rousers and  demons was visited on the Deputy Governor and Secretary to the State Government, SSG.

“We condemn the barbaric behaviour unleashed on the delegation of Ogun State led by the state deputy Governor, Alhaja Salmot Badru and Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Gbemi Onakoya to pay last respect to the late Dina.

The attack on PDP was misplaced terrorism ostensibly to divert attention from the real killers of Dipo Dina. There is simply no sense, or otherwise, in politicising the death of Dina, or attempting to cover up those who actually committed the heinous crime.”

According to Ogunjobi, “the death of Dina was a shock. This has shown that we have no leader in AC.I want to confirm to the whole world that PDP has no hand in Dipo’s death.”

Ogunjobi said, “ so, the  attack on PDP was misplaced terrorism ostensibly to divert attention from the killers of Dipo Dina”,stressing that “we must add that ironically, this hostile environment was created and nurtured by B.T.,an extraction of of a deep forest village in Osun State with expansionist dreams.”

According to Ogunjobi, this low- level and ruthless political operatives vented their anger and venom on a team representing the highly-esteemed Governor of Ogun State, adding that the action of these AC thugs was against contemporary standard of behaviour.

While saying that the action was anti-civilisation, Ogunjobi noted  that as if the shameless act was not bad enough the thugs’ garrison commander gave kudos for a dirty job well executed as planned, stressing that in more civilised climes his rash comment would have severely damaged his reputation and cast his political career into oblivion.
