By Emma AMAIZE,
NIGERIA’s Ambassador to Netherlands, Dr. (Mrs) Nimota Akanbi and the founder/president of the  Hope for Niger-Delta Campaign (HNDC), Comrade Sunny Ofehe say the time had come for violence, kidnapping and bombing in the Niger-Delta to end.
Speaking at the “Niger-Delta Peace Consolidation Conferenceâ€, organized by the Hope for Niger-Delta Campaign (HNDC), which is holding in The Hague , Dr. Akanbi who was represented by Mr. Kabim Ibala said the Federal Government was sincere about resolving the Niger-Delta problematic and that was why it granted amnesty to militants.
He said the problem would not be over except those involved in arms struggle in the region were also sincere in the efforts to find solution.
The ambassador asserted that people should not unduly be criticizing the government, saying, “The administration has been sincere with its seven-point agenda, which has Niger-Delta as one of the key issues and it should be praised or given credit when appropriateâ€.
Comrade Ofehe said his worry was that there was no concrete development going on in the Niger-Delta and the government and multinationals kept citing insecurity, adding, “I want this crisis to end, let the government and all other stakeholders resolve to end this war and allow development to startâ€.
