KADUNA — The Primate of the Church of the Lord (Aladura) Worldwide, His Eminence, Rufus Ositelu, has urged President Umaru Yar’Adua to discard his seven-point agenda for the development of the country and concentrate on the provision of electricity and electoral reforms.
Ositelu also said the “so-called seven-point agenda†of President Yar’Adua was a fluke, adding that Nigeria has now “become a generator propelled economy†due to importation of sub-standard electric generating plants into the country.
He spoke during his Episcopal visit to the North-West Diocese of the church in Kaduna, yesterday.
According to him, “the electoral reform process of this administration is taking too long for us to have transparent elections in 2011. We now have a generator propelled economy.
“Let Yar’Adua face the issue of electricity squarely. We are not looking for miracles from government but we want an end to sycophancy. In the last two and a half years, there is nothing to show about the so-called seven-point agenda.
“A lot of criminals are now roaming the streets in the name of rule of law. Criminals now sew uniforms to celebrate their court appearances because our leaders do not care for the masses.
“Those in government are exhibiting insensitivity as one man is followed by a convoy of over 20 vehicles,†Ositelu said.
