Boost for Sylva’s second term bid

By Samuel Oyadongha
Yenagoa—In a bid to boost the second term ambition of Governor Timipre Sylva of Bayelsa State, members of the ‘Credible Sylva Movement’ have agreed to collapsed into the group, ‘Concerned Bayelsans for Timipre Sylva.’

At a rally held at Sagbama in the Bayelsa West senatorial district, weekend, over one thousand members of Credible Sylva Movement including their leaders declared their membership for the Concerned Bayelsans for Timipre Sylva.

Speaking during the rally, the National Coordinator of Concerned Bayelsans for Timipre Sylva, Chief Richard Kpodor, expressed delight over the action of Credible Sylva Movement, attributing the development to the belief that both groups are working towards achieving a common goal.

Kpodor, who is also the Special Adviser to Governor Sylva on Security Matters, used the occasion to call on other groups to join his group so as to achieve a better result, while calling on all well meaning Bayelsans to support the lofty ideas of the Sylva-led administration.

He attributed the existing peace in the state to the matured manner Governor Sylva has handled the political situation and the militant activities, saying it is only when all Bayelsans work in one accord that the state would achieve its expected end.

Also speaking, the National Vice Chairman of Credible Sylva Movement, Mr. Michael Magbesa, expressed happiness for joining the Concerned Bayelsans for Timipre Sylva, saying his members were at the rally to give total support to the administration of Timipre Sylva.

“Today, I am happy to say that we have fused into Concerned Bayelsans for Timipre Sylva because we are happy with the achievements of the present administration.”

Solidarity messages were equally received from other members of the group, as cultural dances added glamour to the rally, even as over one thousand T-shirts and face caps were distributed among the new members.
