Ilorin—A constitutional lawyer, Malam Yusuf Olu Ali, SAN, yesterday, described as a fulfillment of rule of law, democracy and constitutionalism, the National Assembly’s resolutions directing Vice-President Jonathan Goodluck to act as the president pending President Umaru Yar’Adua’s return to the country.
Ali, told Vanguard that: “I have gone through the length and breadth of the constitution and what transpired in the National Assembly on Tuesday was legal.”
He noted that, since laws are dynamic, the resolutions passed in the National Assembly empowering Vice-President Jonathan as acting president was in line with the tenets of democracy,  rule of law and constitutionalism.
He appealed to Acting President Jonathan to brace up for the challenges in the country, stressing that the nation has been stagnated for long and this has affected the socio-economic, political and religious situations in the country.
Ali, who warned Jonathan that delay may be dangerous, urged him to work hard and ensure that all the problems confronting the nation were nipped in the bud in the shortest time to accelerate the socio-economic, political and religious growth of the country.
