PIONEER Vice Chancellor of Oduduwa University, Ipetumodu, Professor Adekunle Alalade has promised to turn the institution to become one of the topmost universities in the next five years.
Alalade who was also the pioneer Vice Chancellor of Babcock University, Illisan, Remo said the institution which took off in January with about a hundred students has capacity to admit five hundred candidates.
Speaking to newsmen at the Ipetumodu campus of the university, Tuesday, Prof. Alalade said the institution has a long term goal of running four colleges which include: College of Natural and Applied Science, College of Management and Social Sciences, College of Environmental Technology and College of Technology.
He said the university has acquired a work force of over fifty qualified staff both for academic and administrative purposes, adding that â€œefforts are still on, to employ more staff to boost the strength as the population of the students increase to ensure quality and qualitative educationâ€
Alalade said the new university has facilities which include a well-stocked modern library, four lecture theatre, two 350-seater lecture hall and a 1000 seater capacity auditorium in line with the current trend in information technology among others.
He praised the proprietor of the institution, Chief (Dr) Ramon Adedoyin for positioning the university as a model adding that, I am confident that the University will be transfermed into a foremost Ivory Tower in a very short timeâ€
