ABUJA— The Eritrean Government has described as “double standardâ€, the placement of Nigeria on terrorism list by the American Government over Farouk’s attempted bombing of American aircraft.
The Ambassador of the State of Eritrea to Nigeria, Mohammed Ali Omaro made this statement yesterday while fielding question from newsmen on the position of its government on the recent resolution issued by the United Nations Security Council which imposes sanctions on Eritrea.
His words, “We have to call a spade a spade. What we should be asking is the reason behind Americans decisions. Americans included 14 countries on the list that would undergo strict checks while entering their country, what informed their actions?
“This is what we call double standard because all these 14 countries are neither hosting nor supporting terrorism. This is the way of USA thinking and we haven’t seen any changes and until there are changes, we will not support them.”
