Katsina — The Katsina State Government has selected 400 Quranic schools for integration into the formal education system.
Alhaji Sani Adamu, Executive Director, Agency for Mass Education, said at a stakeholders’ meeting in Katsina, yesterday, that government had already released N50 million for the implementation of the programme.
He said arrangements had been completed for the take-off of the pilot programme in February.
He commended the government for initiating the programme and urged all stakeholders to work toward ensuring its success.
Adamu said 30 Quranic schools were selected from Katsina Local Government Area, 20 each from Funtua and Daura Local Government Areas, 15 each from Malumfashi, Kankia, Dutsin_ma and Mani Local Government Areas, and 10 each from other councils.
