Kaduna — Governor of Kaduna State, Mohammad Namadi Sambo said, yesterday, that the coming together of traditional rulers in the North shows their determination to ensure lasting solution to the Jos crisis.
Sambo also said that concrete steps must be taken to nip in the bud such violent crisis in the ancient city of Jos to enable people have rest of mind and assurance of peace and protection of lives and property.
He however, gave assuran-ce that his government would continue to ensure economic empowerment of the people through job creation to unemployed youths in the state.
He spoke at the opening ceremony of the meeting of Emirs and Chiefs from the 19 northern states in Kaduna, yesterday.
In his address, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muham-mad Sa’ad Abubakar III, appealed to Muslims and non-Muslims in the country to embrace dialogue as a means of resolving problems.
“Those contemplating on taking revenge or retaliating on what happened should have a rethink so the crisis will not spillover to other parts,†he said.
