Former junior international, Etim Esin has criticised the formation used by Super Eagles coach Shaibu Amodu against the Black Stars of Ghana last Thursday in Lubango. reports Kate Obodo
Esin, who could not place the exact formation used in the game said they played in a confused state as he termed their performance awful. According to him, the players were not technically sound, adding that played individual football.
“I don’t know the kind of formation the boys played whether its 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 but whichever formation we played, it was awful. Our chances were not bright . They really played individual football. It really destabilized us. I think now, what the team need is injection of new players especially for the forthcoming competition,â€Â he said
When asked if Shaibu Amodu should continue as the hand coach of the team, he said rather than hiring a foreigner that he should be assisted by another indigenous coach. “I love a Nigerian coach to continue. All we need to do is to bring our own coach to assist Amodu,†he concluded.
