By Bridget AMARAEGBU
Nigerians have been urged to find time for leisure and recreation. Speaking at the launch of Cross River Quality ambassador program in Lagos during the week, Ann Oden, a member of the CDC said there is no need for people to visit Dubai for vacation as Calabar offers a better experience .She went further to say that Calabar should be seen as the Dubai of Africa as the city offers what any tourist needs in a destination.

She said that between the months of February and March, all those visiting Calabar will be given special discounts on their tourist packages.

These packages include ‘Meet me in Cross River, Destination Calabar, Paradise in the clouds, gospel encounter and valentine’s romance’.

In her final words at the launch, she encouraged all present to tell the world about Calabar saying that it will be too much sin not to proclaim Calabar and it’s hospitality to the world.

One of the representatives of Tempo, Jessica Ziegler stated that through the CRQ (Cross River Quality) ambassador program, the state is offering exciting and affordable tourism packages to give people an opportunity to experience Cross River for themselves.

She went further to say that state is poised to offer hospitality as it has never been experienced elsewhere, adding that there’ll be no better place to go for vacation than Calabar.

Tempo initiative also has a goal of generating more business for the hospitality industry in the state because more business means more jobs.
