Tomorrow at the Akure Township Stadium, high riding Sunshine Stars FC will be hoping for a succour as they take on Gateway FC of Abeokuta in a week 15 encounter.
The Stars which lost 0-2Â to Warri Wolves last weekend in Oleh, Delta State and will be aiming to erase that ugly feeling as they host Gateway FC. For the Stars, this is another opportunity to better their placement on the Globacom Premier League table as they take on lowly rated Gateway FC.
The Ogun State side has found the going in the league very tough and are presently struggling in the relegation waters. Gateway presently third from the rear in the 20-team league, are poised for the fight-of-lives as Sunshine Stars recently energized by the state governor, will stop at nothing to ensure that they secure the maximum points.
“Right from the beginning of the season, we have our eyes of the trophy. We want to play in the continent as Nigerian representative and we will not allow any team to stop us from achieving our target. Our governor has been wonderful and the players are happy and are hoping to pay him back with not just a good result against Gateway but lifting the league trophy as well.
Against Gateway tomorrow, we will take no prisoners. Our aim is the three points and we will go all out to secure the maximum pointsâ€, Mike Idoko of Sunshine Stars said.
