So many things did not work in Nigeria in 2009 but entertainment was not one of those things. One of the places where entertainment took centre stage last year was Benue state.
Bound to sustain the pace in 2010, Governor Gabriel Suswam will be playing host to a number of notable artists and comedians as they commence Benue Music Festival.
2 Face, J Martins, Basketmouth, and a host of other home based artistes will be performing live at the Aminu Isah Kontagora Open Air Theatre, Makurdi on Saturday 2nd of January, 2010, by 6pm.
What was said of Benue State in 2009 that it was fast becoming the entertainment centre of the Middle Belt is proving itself to be true. But the intention of government in the state is not just to give the youths a wonderful time but to also develop the upcoming artists within the state giving them a platform to flourish amongst already successful artistes.
Speaking on the event, Dream Pointers International Ltd the company putting the event together said it is imperative to harness the entertainment potential of the state and speak to the youths of the state in a language they understand which is entertainment.
“ Benue is a state with lot of potential and the youths have shown that they are talented, this kind of event provides platform for them to develop and be entertained. We appreciate his Excellency for supporting the course of entertainment in the stateâ€
In ensuring that every youth in Benue is a participant, Governor Suswam has given the go ahead to Dream Pointers to make the event free of charge.
