By Bala Ajiya
DAMATURU — THE Yobe State Government has approved the establishment of a state Primary Healthcare Management Board with full statutory roles to bring health services nearer to the people.
The state Commissioner of Information, Mr Bala Haladu who briefed newsmen in Damaturu said the approval was part of government resolve to reposition the Yobe State Ministry of Health to take care of the current challenges.
Mr Haladu said “primary healthcare staff from the ministries of health and local government affairs have been deployed to the state Primary Healthcare Management Board so that the scheme could take off smoothly.â€
Meanwhile, Yobe State has continued to record the highest cases of HIV/AIDS as this year’s record shows 30 per cent increase in the number of aids carriers following the neglect of patients by the Yobe State Action Committee on Aids.
Vanguard gathered that the Yobe State committee on aids has not lived up to expectations hence there are many complaints against the committee.
