OSOGBO—The authorities of the Fountain University, Osogbo have given scholarship to 38 students of the institution for the 2008/2009 academic session.
The Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Hussein Oyelola Bukoye who disclosed this during the third matriculation ceremony at the main campus of the institution said 17 of the students were from the College of Management and Social Sciences while the remaining 21 were from the College of Natural and Applied Sciences.
According to him, the university scholars who scored four and above in their CGPA in the last semester will enjoy 50 percent off from their tuition fees, saying that the essence was to create a healthy academic competition amongst the students of the university.
Professor Bukoye whose address was titled “Our Values, Our Expectations†said the university in its own way of ensuring that its graduates are self employed had ensured functionality of its curriculum and effective use of its GNS and entrepreneurial studies.
The VC stressed that the university towered above the older universities in the country by demonstrating excellent congenial learning environment, excellent laboratory equipment and consumable supplies, excellent IC T facilities, particularly the e-library.
