Yenagoa — Governor Timipre Sylva of Bayelsa State has approved the termination of the appointment of the Press Secretary to the state deputy governor, Mr. Charles Tambou.
The removal of Tambou, a seasoned journalist and former editor of Tide and defunct Sunray Newspa-pers, which takes effect from 22 December 2009, was signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Gideon Ekeuwei.
Although no reason was given for the sack which was aired on the state-owned radio station, the Glory FM, Vanguard learnt that it might be connected with the recent face-off between the governor and his deputy in the wake of the last Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, primaries in the state.
The state government in the statement directed Tambou to return all government properties in his possession.
The governor also wished Tambou success in his future endeavour.
