Former Green Eagles defender Yisa Sofoluwe has expressed delight over the inclusion of some home-based players in the Super Eagles team for next year’s Nations Cup in Angola.
The former Abiola Babes player, nicknamed “the Dean of Defence†said he was satisfied with the selection starting from the goalkeepers, midfielders, attackers and defenders. Sofoluwe recalled the lackadaisical attitude put up by the players in the last 2010 World Cup qualifier. According to him, if the team show cohesion and commitment, it would amount to success in the end.
“The players selected are okay by me. It is very important that they play lots of friendly matches to build the team preparatory to Angola. I’m sure before now the coach has contacted the players before inviting them and I believe something good will come out from them,†he said
