THE Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, Mr. Patrick Osakwe, and the National Financial Secretary of Accord Party, Chief Anthony Onoharigho, yesterday, decamped to the ruling People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
Receiving the decampees alongside their supporters at the state party secretariat, Asaba, the Delta State chairman of the party, Chief Peter Nwaoboshi urged the Senator to bring his experience to bear in furthe-rance of the principles and ideals of the party.
He enjoined party faithfuls to accord the decampees all respect as members of the party, pointing out that Chief Osakwe was a foundation member of the party in the state.
Declaring for the party, Osakwe noted that it was proper for him to retrace his steps to the party he helped to start, adding that the State PDP was more organised and disciplined than he left it in 2007 owing to the administra-tive ingenuity of the state party chairman.
He disclosed that the Accord Party was riddled with crisis and division and that he was leaving the party because it was no longer conducive for him.
Fielding questions from newsmen shortly after they were received into the party, Mr. Anthony Onoharigho said his decision to join the PDP was informed by his desire to contribute his quota to the well being of his people and the state as a whole.
Onoharigho pledged to join forces with Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan to move the state forward and commended the governor for the massive development in the state.
