Jos — The Plateau State House of Assembly has directed the ousted chairman of Mikang Local Government Area, Innocent Tirsel, to stop parading himself in that capacity.
The House has also assumed responsibility for administering the funds of the council pending the swearing in of a substantive chairman for the local government.
The House took the decisions yesterday while debating the report submitted by a committee set up to investigate the crisis that arose over the delay in swearing in Daniel Kungmi who was declared the duly elected chairman of the local government area by the Local Government Elections Petitions Tribunal.
The House also invited the Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Edward Pwajok, to appear before it to shed light on his letter to the state Independent Electoral Commission asking her not to issue the certificate of return to Kungmi as directed by the tribunal.
