Asaba — DELTA State governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, has described Chief Sunny Odogwu, Ide Ahaba, as one of the strong pillars of his administration.
He also called on the private sector to emulate Odogwu to join in fast-tracking the economic development of the state.
The governor made the call, weekend, in Asaba at a reception organised by Chief Sunny Odogwu shortly after a thanksgiving memorial service for his late parents, Obi Robert Odogwu and Mary Odogwu .
He said, “Chief Odogwu speaks to people and solicits for support on behalf of my government. He also talks to me and offers a lot of advice. Indeed his contributions are unquantifiable.â€
Reflecting on the contributions of prominent Deltans towards accelerating the growth of infrastructure in the state, the governor described Chief Odogwu as one of the pillars of his administration, noting that Odogwu has made gigantic contributions to the industrialisation of the state.
He paid glowing tribute to Odogwu’s parents and remarked that if they did not give him proper upbringing and opportunities, the remembrance memorial service would probably not have taken place.
Odogwu said the memorial service was held to remember his parents who worked so hard to give them a life line while they were alive and also commended the governor for attending the ceremony in spite of his crowded programmes.
