ENUGU—THE National Treasurer of the Progressive Peoples Alliance, PPA, Dr. Sam Nkire, yesterday, urged the people of Ukwa-Ngwa in Abia State to embrace the PPA, saying it was the only party that could guarantee their dream of producing the next Governor of the state after Governor Theodore Orji.

Nkire spoke with Vanguard shortly on his return from a tour of United States of America, where he was part of a delegation led by the National Chairman of PPA, Mr. Larry Esin to prepare for the launching of  the party’s US Chapter, coming up in the first quarter of next year.

He said that the PPA was the only notable party where an Ukwa-Ngwa man is in a position of authority and therefore capable of protecting their group’s interest.

Nkire said there is no Ukwa-Ngwa man or woman in the National Working Committee, NWC, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, adding that the people should join a party where they would be part of decision-making.

He further called on all legislators of Ukwa-Ngwa extraction to make haste and join the PPA in order to secure their return tickets as, according to him, the PPA was poised to recover all tickets in “strange hands.”
