MTN Nigeria Communications and Stakeholders in the Lake Chad basin brain stormed on how to save the Lake through inter-basin water transfer organised by the Centre for Trans-Saharan Studies, University of Maiduguri.
Stakeholders from the academia, government and advocates for environmental protection converged at the nationâ€™s capital for a two-day deliberation towards reviving the lake from going into extinction.
Addressing participants, Mr. Ahmad Faroukh, MTN CEO, who wasÂ represented by Mr. Olaoluwa Osundina, Regional Marketing Manager, South- West, said that MTNÂ as an international brand with deep African root, the company is committed to supporting initiatives that will contribute to the enrichment of the lives ofÂ Africans, no matter where they live. He stressed that the company has made the welfare of its subscribers a cardinal point of duty.
This commitment he said informed the setting up of an independent unit within MTN responsible for our social responsibility strategy called the MTN Foundation.
