Governor Theodore Orji of Abia State has called on Nigerians to use celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ to show and share love among themselves irrespective of differences in race, religion or political ideologies.
Governor Orji in a Christmas message to the people of Abia state recalled that the period signified love and redemption to the world that Christ came to save by reason of his birth. He charged Christians to show example of their faith by cultivating love among their neighbours so as to have a peaceful society.
According to Orji “there is need for a sober reflection of how we have served God in truth and honestyâ€.
According to Orji “This 2009 that is at its twilight remains a very memorable one in my life. It is the year our Lord and God said an emphatic NO to the evil plot of man through the great manifestation of His divine will that ultimately put the devil to shame in the struggle for the betterment of the lives of our peopleâ€.
He observed that given the challenges of the winding year, especially the setback occasioned by the global meltdown which affected almost all economies, “Nigeria out to be very grateful to God for seeing it through the most difficult times to still remain a very united country with great prospects.â€
