Ilorin — The chairman, Nigeria’s Governors Forum, Governor Bukola Saraki of Kwara State, weekend, in Ilorin warned against playing politics with the country’s football.
Warning those at the helms of affairs in the nation’s football, Saraki also called for the sack of the national coach of the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Shuaibu Amodu.
Saraki, in his end of year/monthly media chat with newsmen, posited that for the Nigerian national football team to do well during the Nations and World cups, the authorities involved must go for the best coach, irrespec-tive of where he comes from.
“Amodu lacks the idea to lead the Eagles to 2010 stage. He has shown us the stuff he has as the team struggled throughout the qualifiers for the 2010 Nations Cup and the World Cup.
If the best coach is a Nigerian, Ghanaian or Chinese, let it be. Nigeria deserve the best,†he said.
