The Nigerian High Commissioner to Canada Prof. Iorwuese Hagher has urged Nigerians to shun all divisive tendencies but imbibe the ideals of the nation’s founding fathers which was premised on togetherness and genuine love for the peace and progress of all segments of the nation.
The Envoy who made this assertion while fielding questions from newsmen in Makurdi maintained that Nigeria remains a leading force in Africa and a rallying point for a lot of nations.

He noted that the nation’s strength lies in its unity, advising that the people rededicate themselves to the dreams of the founding fathers of the nation by ensuring that they eschew all forms of bickering.

According to Prof. Hagher, “We cannot afford to perpetuate odious practices that will tear us apart as a nation because we all know that our strength lies in our unity; and that is the more reason why we must identify best practices anywhere in the world that would aid our development as a nation apply same to the Nigerian development efforts.”
