ABAKALIKI—THE Ebonyi State Government of, yesterday postponed its presentation of the 2010 budget proposal to the State House of Assembly, promising that when presented next week, the next year’s appropriation would be a budget of reality and actuality.
The state government’s spokesman, Mr. Egwu Chima, who addressed newsmen in Abakaliki, said that the Special Executive Council meeting, commenced on December 16 and ended December 21, 2009 with the 2010 budget proposal being the major issue for discussion.
He said any time Governor Martin Elechi was ready to present the budget to the House of Assembly, “Ebonyi people should not expect only a budget of reality but a budget of actuality. A budget tailored to the needs of every Ebonyi man, woman, young and old, the able, disabled and all those resident in the state.â€
Chima, the state’s Commissioner for Information and Orientation, further said the budget will capture the Millennium Development Goals ,MDGs, of the state.
In a related development, the State Executive Council rescinded an earlier decision taken against a businessman in Abaklaiki, whose filling stations were sealed for allegedly dealing on adulterated petroleum products.
