Professor ofÂ Â Agricultural Economics, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Professor Eric Eboh has become the President of the Agricultural Research Institute, Nigeria Agricultural Policy Research Network (NAPRNet).
A statement from the institute said that Eboh was chosen as the pioneering president of the institute based on his track record of designing and implementing research, particularly the scientific surveys of households and firms, under several international networks and organisations.
NAPRNet was established early this year as an authoritative and independent forum for promoting research for evidence-based agricultural and rural development policies in Nigeria .
The statement added that Eboh, who is also the Executive Director of African Institute for Applied Economics, Enugu (AIAE) would use his wealth of experience to position NAPRNet in line with his mission to facilitate the conduct of research as well as the communication and utilisation of research results in the agriculture and rural development policy process in Nigeria.
Eboh has over the years undertaken research studies for National Planning Commission (NPC), United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and for some of the Nigerian programmes of World Bank Country Office, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and United Kingdom (UK) Department for International Development (DFID).
