UGHELLI — THE Provost of Delta State University, DELSU, Oleh campus, Prof. Victor Peretomode, has said the state government was committed to the develop-ment of the campus.
Peretomode, who noted that the campus was gradually being transformed into a citadel of learning, made the remark at Oleh campus on the occasion of 2009 end of year/award giving ceremony and the commissioning of a 6-bedroom bungalow built, donated and handed over to the institution by Engr. Benson Adano.
According to him, the transformation has been made possible through the combined efforts of govern-ment, the host Oleh commu-nity, management, staff and students of the institution.
Thanking Mr. Adano on behalf of Delta State University Governing Council, management, staff and students for his kind disposition and magnanimity through donation of the bungalow, Peretomode recalled that Mr. Adano had earlier made a similar donation through the provision of internet facility for the campus’ accreditation.
To this end, he called on non-governmental organizations, philanthropic organizations, and well meaning Deltans to emulate Mr. Adano by contributing towards the development of the 14 years old campus, with a view of making it a world class university.
Responding, the donor, who was represented by Mr. Godwin Tobi, thanked the provost and the entire management of the University for appreciating his modest contribution towards the development of the university, adding that the gesture was one out of his many contributions to the development of the society and humanity.
