Code of Conduct Tribunal begins sitting in Benin

BENIN — THE Code of Code Tribunal is expected to commence its sitting today in Benin-City to try public officers in the state who might have run fowl of the law.
The tribunal has already covered over 15 states of the federation before coming to Edo State.
A statement in Benin yesterday by the Principal Registrar I of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, Abdulmalik Shaibu, said the tribunal would commence its sitting by 10 am daily at the Federal High Court, Annex, No 158, Ikpoba Slope, Benin.
The statement disclosed that the session in Edo State shall be presided over by the Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal, Justice Constance Rekhia Momoh, who would be assisted by Mr. Murtala Adebayo Sanni (SAN) and Danladi Yakubu Umar.
No fewer than 59 public officers drawn from 13 local government councils in Edo State would be put on trial during the tribunal’s session.
They are from Egor, Esan South-East, Igueben, Orhionmwon, Uhunmwonde, Esan Central, Estako East, Ikpoba/Okha, Ovia South-West, Esan North-East, Estako-West, Oredo and Owan West.
