National Security and Civil Defence Corps, yesterday, clinched the men and women 100m gold at the on-going Public Service Games holding at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
Christopher Agi took the menâ€™s race, while Dairo Adeyemi took the women gold in the event that was keenly contested. Agi coasted home effortlessly as he out-paced the men, while it was neck to neck between Dairo and Jasper Adekunle also of the Civil Defence. Both girls are members of the strong Civil Defence relay team that featured Agnes Osazuwa and Glory Bassey.
In the women long jump, Loveth Ekeuhie of the National Sports Commission won the gold with a jump of 5.65m, while Bukola Joseph of Civil Defence took silver and Amarachi Alfred of the National Industrial Court settled for silver.
Footballers will take to the pitch today to decide who takes the gold as Civil Defence clash with Ministry of Defence in the women final, while in the men semi-final Civil Defence will meet State House. The other game is between National Industrial Court and National Orientation Agency.
